Centraudio is an American freemium broadcast, event calendar, podcast, audio, and radio streaming platform owned by the namesake company Centraudio, Inc., an independent subsidiary of GloboRB. First launched on May 2, 2016, Centraudio functions as the national umbrella brand for Centraudio, Inc.'s radio network and is the the largest radio broadcaster in the United States with over 100 million registered users as of 2022. The service includes thousands of podcasts and exclusive radio stations. Its main competitors are Audacy and iHeartRadio, thought Centraudio made a cross-content partnership with the latter in September 2024.

Since 2022, Centraudio, Inc. and parent company GloboRB built their national event franchise around the Centraudio consumer brand including the Centraudio Music Festival, Summer Bash, Jingle Bell Jubilee, Country Festival, Latino Bash, Calipso and Rockternative Festival.

History[]

Centraudio launched as Mas Radio on May 2, 2016, under Mas Media. As the successor of RB Radio, owned by the defunct RB Media, it was originally launched as a central website to stream all of Mas' radio stations. Among the original features were currently playing information, song history, station and genre searches, presets, blogs, newsfeeds, and social media tools. Later that month, the service launched its first app for iOS and Android. In 2017, the service added a music video streaming option. On November 22, 2018, Mas Radio was renamed StudioNext, following Mas Media's rebranding as Studio Networks. On April 5, 2021, StudioNext rebranded as Centraudio.

In May 2021, Studio Networks was acquired by Trujillo, Inc.. Studio Networks was divided into two separate subsidiaries. Radio became Centraudio, Inc., and TV became the second incarnation of Studio Networks now known as GloboRB.

In April 2022, Centraudio, Inc. was absorbed by GloboRB, reuniting both radio and television properties under one entity. In 2024, American investment firm Blackstone, Inc. acquired 70% of Centraudio, Inc. while GloboRB retained the remaining 30. The following year, Blackstone sold its share back to GloboRB and Centraudio, Inc. became an independent subsidiary.

Functionality[]

Listeners can hear live radio stations, personalized music stations, create playlists, listen to podcasts and more. The Centraudio player has a Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down tool used on songs playing on live and customized radio stations. "Liking" or "disliking" songs for all live stations provides feedback to the station being played. "Liking" a song on customized stations will have it and songs like it played more often. "Disliking" a song on customized stations means that song will not be played again. This data is used to personalize users' "My Favorites Radio" station. As My Favorites Radio learns a user's music taste over time, it adds various bonus tracks into the mix. Songs can easily be removed from the station.

Users can favorite songs and the playlist itself. Advertisements are included before the first song and after every 5 songs. The user interface is similar to the one found on the defunct Samsung Milk Music service. The service was discontinued on January 1, 2024.
